What are the qualifying criteria in order to attend Kosin University?
International students must be Christian, be non Korean nationals and have completed the required prerequisites for their chosen courses. For more details see the admissions requirements and procedures page, click here.The admissions requirements and procedures page



What are some courses that are on offer to international students, whether it be undergraduate, masters or PhDs?
Kosin University offers a great opportunity to international students from developing countries wishing to be future pastors and missionaries through the International MDiv (English) program International MDiv (English) program. There is also MA program in Christian Education MA program in Christian Education for teachers, and others wanting to apply their Christian faith in their chosen field of study.
There is also an opportunity to study Korean language courses Korean language  courses in preparation for studying courses taught in Korean.  An undergraduate program is available in English Language and Literature Undergraduate program. PhD programs are available in areas ranging from science to theology on a case by case basis.



Is being a Christian a qualifying criterion for admission?
As a Christian university, absolutely you have to be a Christian to qualify.



What language is used as the basis for teaching at Kosin?
In most the courses, Korean language is the main basis for teaching except for English tract Master courses and some English basic conversation classes taught by foreign professors. For PhD programs, it depends on the field of study and most importantly it depends on the supervising professor.



Is taking Korean classes compulsory in undergraduate courses. What about for Masters and PhD?
Since majority of teaching is done in Korean language, it is advisable to have sufficient knowledge of the language to be able to understand the contents being taught. For masters, if it is in the English tract then all the teaching is in the English language and for PhDs, it again depends on the supervising professor.



Can I study Korean language for certain period of time before I actually start my chosen area of study?
Yes, for six months or more, a student can take Korean language courses. This is to assist you as you attend your chosen area of study where the professor only speaks in Korean. However, you can continue in the language course as you start your studies in the field you choose.



As a foreign student, do I qualify as an exchange student while in Kosin?
The exchange program is specifically for native Korean students, so as an international student you are not qualified for the program.
